Rosie didnt have the best start in life but that hasnt stopped her from catching up on lost puppy time. She is a Doberman mix, born in mid August 2020 and came to ODAAT after she was found starving and alone. She is amazingly sweet and is packing on the pounds nicely. She is extremely food motivated so continued obedience and training is a must with her as she will likely always have an extreme love for food. She currently eats from a slow feed bowl which will also need continued into the future and possibly for her entire life. She knows to "sit" and "wait" until her bowl is placed on the ground. She does not eat around the other dogs in her foster home due the safety of all involved and this is a process that should be introduced at a very slow pace in the future, if at all, in her new home. She has no food aggression issues with humans and has not been given the opportunity to display food aggression with other animals. She does take treats in their presence and with obedience commands does well. Rosie relies heavily on the companionship of other dogs in the home and will need another doggy friend to live with. Her fur sibling should be a well-mannered, tolerant to puppy play, medium to large size dog who doesnt mind having Rosie snuggle with them on the couch/dog bed and who is non reactive to vocal play since she can get her growl on when playing (all in fun.) She has been doing great with not having accidents in her crate as long as she is taken out to potty before being put in her crate. She is crated when her foster family leaves the home. Rosie prefers to sleep in bed cuddling her humans and she sleeps the entire night with no accidents! Her house training is stellar but she is a puppy so she goes out every hour and will sit by the door when she needs to go out otherwise. She is great in the car and at her current size still fits as a lap dog but if tethered in the back seat she will lay down and sleep for the ride. Over the Thanksgiving holiday she got to live with some cats for a few days and she did wonderful.....she tries to play with them but is not aggressive. This is a step up from her originally being terrified of them! A fenced in yard that she cannot jump over as she gets bigger is necessary for her as she is very curious of things that run and move when she is outside and being leashed just does not give her enough room to run her energy off.
