Sampson.....this senior boy has had a rough life. The first 4 years of his life were spent living in a crate 24/7. A friend of the family offered to take Sampson in so he didn't have to live like that anymore. After years of having Sampson, this man lost his home and had no choice but to live in his vehicle. Feeling that Sampson deserved so much more, he reached out for help. Sampson absolutely LOVES attention! In exchange for your attention, he will gift you with a big slobbery kiss! He enjoys going on walks and playing in his water bowl. He is currently being fostered at the Doggie Lodge and the staff there absolutely adore him! Sampson loves squeeky toys! In the kennel environment, he appears to be dog selective, however, we do know he has had play dates with a voluteers' dogs and did well with both males and females. We are willing to entertain a home with another calmer female dog, medium to large in size, who is respectful of space and sharing, however, a home where Sampson could be the apple of his family's eye would also be suitable. Due to his age, a home with kids 8 and older who are respectful of dogs will be considered. He does great in the car and walks well on a leash. He would do best in a home where someone is home more than they are not, not just during the time of COVID but even after life returns to normal. He did live with cats in his prior home as well and did great. He is your typical laid-back boxer just looking for some love in the years he has left and we are devoted to finding him that and more!
