Look at this handsome boy, Charlie!  Charlie is a 10 year old Lhasa Apso who has been affectionately dubbed ‘Chuck’ with his cute underbite and bulldog stance!  You would never know this is the same dog from when we brought him in near the end of October.  He was found stray with a severe skin infection causing him to have virtually no hair on the main parts of his body as well as missing some hair on his face.  His hair has grown so much with lots of baths, special shampoos, daily massages and being made to wear jammies.  He isn’t crazy about them but it helps to keep him from scratching and he looks super cute in them!

For the first month in his foster home, Chuck was very calm and sweet but didn’t really interact with the humans or cats.  He seemed almost depressed!  It took a few weeks but we finally got a tail wag!  It wasn’t much but let me tell you how much that little swing warmed our hearts!  Now, he actively snuggles in bed, sometimes climbing on top of his foster mom!  He lets the cats sniff him all over or lay next to him, but don’t get near his food or he shows them who is boss!  Not, really, he just gives them old man grumbles.  He also gets along with other dogs as well.  He is pretty much non-plussed by anything and is very easy going and sweet.  Chuck doesn’t seem to have a mean bone in his little body!  He just wants to be able to continue his lazy streak - he has to be forced to get up in the morning or he will stay in bed until 11 if you let him. 

Chuck is mostly house trained but does need to be watched and let out regularly as we have had a few accidents here and there.  He also does well in the crate but will bark most of the time.  Chuck walks great on a leash and loves to go for walks but doesn’t really seem very interested in playing in the yard.  He is a good little eater and is very food motivated but never begs.
