Meet Mister. He is a gorgeous, long haired boy. We don’t know a lot about Mister’s history but he was was definitely part of a family prior to coming to ODAAT. Mister was found by a very nice lady who saw him bleeding when he was crossing the road. He readily came to her as if he knew she would help. Mister had wire and string imbedded in his back leg. It was bleeding and infected. This nice lady too him to the emergency vet where he was cleaned up and had some matted fur shaved off his neck. The vet discovered that Mister was already neutered and front declawed. When he came to his foster mom, he was really stressed and really mad. It took just a few days for him to get comfortable with pets but was still easily angered and he would lash out. After a few weeks, Mister settled in and although moody at times, he has become quite the love bug. He loves sleeping between his foster mom’s feet. Imagine our surprise when he was asked if he gives kisses and he immediately touched noses with his foster mom. He is doing well with the other cats in the house and is starting to make friends with them. He has never done more than hiss at the other cats and runs away if confronted. We don’t know what happened that Mister lost his home but since he is declawed he absolutely cannot go back outside. Mister is ready for his forever family but due to his moodiness, it is best that there are no young children in the house. His forever family should be familiar with cat behaviors and willing to work with him (he is responding very well to his foster mom’s firm correction). As mentioned above, Mister is neutered and front declawed. He is also up to date on vaccines and microchipped. He is estimated to be about 2-3 years old.
