Old man Champ is a senior boy with a super cool personality who wants nothing more than to live out the rest of his years loving his human and taking naps. He loves to greet you when you come home from running errands and follow you from room to room when you are home. He has gotten better at being left alone for longer periods of time but would still enjoy an adopter who is home more than they are not. Champ is such a good boy that he doesnt need crated when you leave, which is good because hes not fond of the crate at all. We actually think that his prior owner likely kept him crated a lot because he will gnaw on the wires and his front bottom teeth are ground down :( He is currently being fostered with other dogs in the home and does well with them but hes not much of an endurance playmate. He would be fine as an only dog or with another low energy dog in the home. He has met a cat outside from the other side of a fence and was interested in sniffing but did not try to go after him. So a dog savvy cat would likely be ok. He is able to do carpeted steps at this time but his strength matches his age so that may change sooner than later. He is great on a leash and should be leashed to go out if there is not a fenced in yard because he does like to sniff and is a little hard of hearing. He loves laying on fluffy dog beds, blankets and on the couch next to you. When his blanket falls off the couch he will make eye contact with you and let out a raspy bark to let you know it needs put back on the couch lol. He is completely house trained and will go to the door when he needs to go out. Sometimes he likes to lay like a frog on the floor with his back legs out to the sides lol! If you have your heart on a senior dog or would like to open your heart and home to champ, please apply for adoption through our website www.onedogatatime.us
