Mastiff (short coat) : : Male : : Adult : : X-Large
Ruger is a loyal, loving, 4-5 year old Mastiff looking for his forever home where he can be close to his humans and has space to do his zoomies. He is a solid 135+lbs and loves to lean into his humans for pets and butt scratches, which are his absolute favorite! Belly rubs are a close second. He knows how to shake, sit, and is working on stay. He is smart and treat motivated so you could teach him just about anything. He hasn’t had any accidents in the house, doesn’t chew up anything, and is crate trained. He LOVES going for car rides and walks well on a leash but will require a handler that is strong as he is a big and powerful boy. He gets very excited about the hose and will play in a sprinkler or let you soak him with water for hours if he could. He will require a fenced in yard as he loves to run a couple of laps and then lounge around outside keeping those pesky squirrels out. Ruger loves everyone he meets and insists on pets every time. He was said to be in a home with other dogs, however we have never had him integrated with other dogs yet. He will torment cats... so no kitties please. He will guard his food bowel and doesnt like his bones or high quality treats messed with, so this will need to be considered in any potential home. We are looking for a home with children older than 12 due to his size and power and understanding of boundaries.
