Rosie is a sweet, loving, 5 year old short haired St. Bernard who was surrendered from an Amish breeder where she lived her entire life in a very small space. Needless to say, she is really enjoying the freedom of roaming around a warm house and napping wherever she chooses. She doesn’t ask for much, just some belly rubs and a comfy soft spot to rest.  Rosie is quite friendly to most people however strangers can make her a little uncomfortable. Therefore, slow and careful introductions are the best route. She does best when she is allowed to approach the person on her own, and not when someone immediately enters her “bubble.” This is all new to her as she has lived her entire life outside as a breeder and she is still learning how to be a dog. She does well on the leash but will need someone strong enough to pull her back since she is very interested in all the critters running around outside. Rosie has mastered the art of getting in and out of the car now and enjoys going for rides! She is also housebroken and crate trained and hasn’t had a single accident in her foster home. She does not counter surf or chew anything up. She has began to show interest in toys and likes to throw them around with herself out in the yard. Rosie truly is a sweetheart and is a very easy going dog. She would do best in a calm home where she can relax and enjoy her humans, young children are not advised. We are unsure of how she is with other dogs or cats at this time. She had a rough time with her spay surgery and had a few complications so once she heals we will work on meeting new dogs. If you would like to apply to give Rosie her forever home once we have learned more about her, applications can be found on our website www.onedogatatime.us
