The Boys... Silas and Kolby. You see, we have found out alot about the background to their story. These 2 boys were once loved members of a family. They were even photographed for the birth announcement of their human sister at one time. Sadly their parents split up and their momma and sister moved out. The boys were left with their Dad. He got a new girlfriend and decided to spend most of his days with her, at her house leaving the boys all alone in basement, only feeding them periodically. Thankfully an elderly neighbor reached out for help when she saw their Dad carrying Silas out to potty. She wasn't really an animal person, but was horrified at their condition. She reached out to her granddaughter who just so happened to be an ODAAT volunteer. This is when the plan to get them out was put into place. We are patiently waiting for charges to be filed. This "man" deserves to be brought to justice for slowly starving these sweet boys. They are both on very slow re-feeds because their starvation was so slow. This makes it even harder to up their food intake and harder to put weight on them. When Silas came into rescue he weighed a mere 40.8 lbs. As of December 22, just one month later he has gained over 11 lbs! Kolby was 43 coming in and now weighs 55 lbs! Over 12 pounds gained in ONE MONTH! The boys are still not up to weight that is good enough for Silas to get neutered, Kolby already is... however, we are going to take applications now. You see there is absolutely NO way we could split them up. They are a bonded pair and will remain together. We are searching for the BEST home EVER!! These boys will never want for anything again... we promised them a fairy tale ending... and we need your help to make this possible. The family that is fortunate enough to be blessed with them will never be disappointed. Kolby is mild mannered and Silas... well as long as he has his stuffy he is happy.
