When a good Samaritan saw Blaze being sold on a for sale site for drug money, she decided she needed to save him, and that's just what she did. He was underweight and had no idea how to be a dog when she brought him home from the mess that was once his "home." Over the past few months she has worked with him and has gotten him to completely new level in life but Blaze still has some learning to do. He is a 1.5 yr old red Siberian husky and he is smarter than the day is long. He can open toilets to get water, he can open baby gates and screen doors. He is leery of new dogs so a lengthy meet and greet or multiple meets may be suggested. He is affectionate towards female dogs and will shy away from male dogs. He is a counter surfer. He likes to chase the kitty in the home at times but has never been aggressive towards her. He is currently fed seperately from the other dogs in the home bc he will scarf down his food and go for theirs, but is perfectly fine sharing a water bowl. He will eat socks. Blaze is crate trained and will walk well on a leash when he is the only dog but when walking with other dogs he must be at the front of the pack. He will chew collars, such as his Seresto collar. Like a typical husky, he likes to dig. Instead of chasing the ball himself, he will chase the other dogs who are chasing the ball. He is more comfortable with women than men, the proper man will have to be patient and allow Blaze to come to him. What Blaze needs is a breed savvy owner who is willing to continue working with him on his self esteem, socialization and manners. It is clear from his past that he was not worked with and if you know the breed, that is not something that works for them.
