Mill Momma Lindsay's first week in a home instead of a barn... through the eyes of her first time Foster, Michelle Grove.
"I wasn't sure what to expect when I agreed to foster a 6 year old puppy mill Shiba Inu mama. What I didn't expect was this little 20 pound girl that despite everything, was able to recognize love and security and to trust a human so soon. Or that she would be housetrained enough to stay in her own room without a mess or chewing anything for the whole day. I didnt expect her to adapt to a house and stairs and going out on a leash in less than a week. Or for her to love to play with toys. She has no idea what a ball is for but she loves to try to rip it apart. She particularly loves squeaky toys and things she can shake. I didn't expect her to be so good with strangers, as long as she is with someone she trusts. She wags her whole rear end and lights up when she sees someone coming and will nuzzle her face in your hand to be pet. She loves her wet food treat and loves peanut butter. She is still adjusting to car rides and cats but is coexisting with my 9 year old Shiba. She does seem to get jealous of attention at times. This girl would love to be able to run. She must be secured. Our next step is some more leash training and overcoming the security to venture out of her room more."
