PATCHES This sweet, laid back girl has been learning what life can really be like thanks to her wonderful foster family, the Hetricks. She was the one dog we were told could be pregnant. Thankfully her scan showed no babies! Patches is a shy girl at first, but warms up quickly. She will come for lovin and is still not really sure why it feels so good, but she knows she likes it. She is said to be around 9-10 years old. She would be good as the only dog or one laid back dog. She is happy to lounge around and take in the new scenery. Her foster momma wrote. " Patches is very friendly. She prefers to ignore the other dogs and people most of the time. Patches does get nervous or afraid with loud noises, raised voices and quick movements (especially by men). While she does come upstairs with us, she will spend half her time standing at basement door. (the basement is the access to the yard, typical of a outdoor dog being brought indoors for the first time) Other than her first night, she has been fine when placed in a crate, although she is stubborn and doesn't like to voluntarily go in. Treats are key! She also does well on a leash, but again, she can sometimes be stubborn if you aren't going the direction she wants. She even does fairly well walking with me when not on a leash. We have allowed free roam and nothing has been destroyed or chewed.
She really likes the cool floor.
:)
She would make a great pet for someone without any other pets, perhaps an older person, who could give her all their love and attention."
We are taking applications for adoption now thru our website www.oneodgatatime.us. The 30 day hold is up on the 24th.
